Paint.NET is image and photo manipulation software designed to be used on computers that run Windows. It supports layers, unlimited undo, special effects, and a wide variety of useful and powerful tools. It started development as an undergraduate college senior design project mentored by Microsoft, and is currently being maintained by some of the alumni that originally worked on it. Originally intended as a free replacement for the MS Paint software that comes with Windows, it has grown into a powerful yet simple tool for photo and image editing. The programming language used to create Paint.NET is C#, with a small amount of C++ for installation and shell-integration related functionality.
Download notes: Alternatively you can download the latest Beta version of this software.
Features:
  • Performance in many areas has been substantially improved, and overall memory usage has also been greatly reduced (especially when more than 1 image is open).
  • The user interface has been refreshed with new icons, and visual styling has been enhanced for Aero Glass (Windows 7 / Vista only).
  • Upgraded to use the latest .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, which has many built-in performance improvements.
  • New effect: Blurs -> Surface Blur, by Ed Harvey
  • New effect: Distort -> Dents, by Ed Harvey
  • New effect: Distort -> Crystalize, by Ed Harvey
  • The font manager for the Text Tool has been completely rewritten, resulting in increased performance and better reliability. On Windows 7, the quality of text is much better as a result of using DirectWrite (this also works on Windows Vista if you have installed DirectX 11).
  • The built-in updater now has the ability to download updates in the background, and will wait until you exit Paint.NET to install them. In previous versions, the download happened in the foreground, and you had to wait for the entire process to complete before you could use Paint.NET again.
  • Now includes a Russian translation.
What's New:
  • Fixed: Subtraction mode in the Magic Wand tool was generating B-A instead of A-B.
  • Fixed: Crash when using Effect->Repeat.
  • Fixed: Crash (AccessViolationException) on some systems when initializing the canvas for hardware accelerated rendering. It will still crash but then switch to software rendering for the next startup, which will then avoid the crashing.
  • Fixed: Crash when clicking on the Shapes tool if you had run an old 4.0 beta/alpha and had also changed which shape is used at startup to be a line or curve.
  • Fixed: Crash when using Settings -> Update -> Check Now due to incorrectly determining that UAC is not enabled.

TSR Watermark Image 3.5.2.2

Do you want credits for your images and/or you brand then you should consider adding a watermark to all images you are posting online. With your name or website added as a watermark to a photo you are more likely to get the credits. The harder you make the watermark to remove the more sure you can be of getting the credits.
Another use of a watermark could be to stamp the file date/time the photo was taken to the image to make sure the image has not been tampered with.
Features:
  • Easier to use than Adobe Photoshop - Quick to learn.
  • Quick and efficient - batch watermark thousands of photos without user action.
  • Copy protection - Create solid watermarks that are hard to remove.
  • Reliable and Stable - Gets the job done without tweaking.
  • Designed for Watermarking - Professional software for adding watermarks.

As of 2.2.1, it has more than 80 image filters and color adjustments, some of which are unique to Pixelitor. Some of the gradients can also be found only here.
Note that Pixelitor is intended to be powerful rather than simple. You should have some experience with image editors in order to use it, because there isn't much documentation available yet, and many concepts (layers, blending modes, Gaussian blurring, unsharp masking, histograms, etc.) are the same.
What's New:
  • Image centered in the internal window
  • "Allow Growing" option for the Crop Tool
  • More zoom levels and "Ctrl + mouse wheel" zooming
  • New "Underwater" filter
  • The "Pinch, Bulge, Twirl" and "Swirl" filters were unified into one filter
  • Minor bugfixes
